Jennifer Holdorf, ND is a board certified naturopathic physician; and the founder of New Start Naturopathic in Shelton, CT. As a naturopathic physician, Dr. Holdorf’s goal is to provide her patients with the resources necessary to achieve optimal wellness, so that each individual can be actively involved in their path to health. New Start Naturopathic is a family practice; which caters to patients of all ages. By using natural therapies, Dr. Holdorf treats a variety of conditions, both acute and chronic, while trying to heal the body from the inside out.
Dr. Holdorf is also trained and certified in a program called FirstLine Therapy. As a FirstLine Therapist, Dr. Holdorf uses nutritional and lifestyle modifications to achieve optimal body composition, sustain balanced energy levels and prevent chronic disease. FirstLine Therapy is a therapeutic lifestyle program that focuses on the use of proper nutrition, exercise, and stress management to prevent and treat chronic disease. In turn, FirstLine Therapy is beneficial for any individual, and is indicated in such conditions as diabetes, heart disease, endocrine disorders, hormonal dysregulation, chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as inflammatory and autoimmune pathologies.
Jennifer Holdorf, ND received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from University of Bridgeport, College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Holdorf graduated with honors and was awarded a clinical excellence award upon matriculation. She received her physician’s license in the state of Connecticut, and is an active member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Dr. Holdorf received her B.S. in Biology from Iona College in 2004, and following graduation worked at the Sidney Kimmel Center for Prostate and Urologic Cancers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Dr. Holdorf has given grand round lectures at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine. She has lectured at Milford Hospital, the Milford Family Resource Center, Milford Library, Shelton Library, Stratford Library, Sound Mind & Body, LLC, and the Stratford Rotary Club. She has spoken to Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, Lyme Disease and Breast Cancer support groups in the state of Connecticut ; and appeared on Connecticut Channel 8 News in August of 2011.
Dr. Holdorf has practiced and served the Milford community in the past, and has worked alongside other naturopathic physicians in multidisciplinary practices. Dr. Holdorf is extremely excited to be serving the Shelton community, and believes in a holistic approach to health.
